Champion
Of Health
Beginning with the 2006 National Specialty, the GDCA, in
conjunction with the OFA will be awarding a Champion Of Health. What is a Champion For Health? If your dog has a
CHIC number and has recently celebrated a significant
accomplishment at the national level, whether in the
ring, in the field, or as a producer, he or she can be
nominated for this exciting award.
Nominations will be made to the GDCA and from those 3 to
5 dogs will be forwarded to the OFA for their review.
The OFA will make the final decision as to the Champion
Of Health. The recipient of this annual award will
receive an engraved silver medallion, and a $100
donation to the club's donor advised fund at the AKC CHF
made in the dog's honor. Dogs that are nominated, but
not selected may be re-nominated in another year.
To submit your dog’s name for consideration:
1.
You must be a member of the GDCA or an
Affiliate Club
2. Your dog must have a CHIC number
3. You must have record of your dog’s
accomplishments |
Nominations
must be submitted to the GDCA Corresponding Secretary by
July 15 of each year. The Corresponding secretary will
forward this information to the GDCA Board members no
later than August 1. The Board will review and choose
its nominations at the August Board meeting for
submission to the OFA.
When submitting a nomination please include the
following:
1.
Your name and contact information
2. Your dog’s full name and call name
3. AKC registration number and date of birth
4. CHIC number
5. Brief description of the accomplishment
